Meta has made a minor change to Messenger that will allow users to easily call their friends and family.
Messenger has received an update from Meta.Meta’s messaging app now has a new ‘Calls’ tab thanks to this new update.The new Calls tab’s goal is to make it easier for users to call their friends and family.
Previously, users had to open their chat window, find the contact with whom they wanted to make a video or audio call, and then place the call.Messenger users can now do so by simply tapping the audio or video call option to the right of the contact.
Previously, Messenger’s iOS and Android apps included three tabs: Chat, which helps users have text chats with other users; People, which helps users identify users who are available for a chat; and Stories, which gives users access to all the Stories that their friends have shared on the platform.Between the Chats and People tabs, the company has now added a fourth Calls tab.
Here’s how to use Messenger’s new Calls tab to make calls
Messenger users can make calls in two ways using the new Calls tab.The first method involves selecting Suggested Contacts:
Step 1: Open the Messenger app on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the Calls tab.
Step 3: Now scroll down to the contact whom you want to call.
Step 4: Lastly, tap the audio call or video call option in front of the contact to make the call.
If the contact you’re looking for isn’t in the list of Suggested Contacts, you can conduct a more extensive search to find the contact and make the call.What you must do is as follows:
Step 1: Open the Messenger app on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the Calls tab.
Step 3: Now tab the Plus icon on the top right corner of the screen.
Step 4: In the search bar, type the name of the contact you are looking for.
Step 5: Lastly, tap the audio call or video call option that appears towards the right side of the contact to make the call.
It’s worth noting that the new Calls tab brings Messenger closer to WhatsApp’s interface, which has separate Calls and Chats tabs for texting and calling.
