State Bank of India (SBI) has stated that its clients can now use WhatsApp to access basic account information.Users can access the mini statements and check their account balance using SBI’s WhatsApp banking services.
The bank recently made this news on Twitter.”Your bank is now on WhatsApp”, the caption stated.Learn about the balance of your account and check the mini statement on the go.
How to check bank balance via WhatsApp
- To register yourself for the SBI banking service, you need to send “SMS WAREG A/c No” to 91 72 0893 3148 from your registered mobile number.
- Now that you have registered, simply send a “Hi” text on 90 2269 0226
- You will then see a text:
Dear Customer,
Welcome to SBI Whatsapp Banking Services!
Please choose from any of the options below.
1. Account Balance
2. Mini Statement
3. De-register from WhatsApp Banking
4. Choose the option that you want to go ahead, type it (lfor example: “1”) and press send.
The necessary data will subsequently appear on your display.For the uninitiated, banks like ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank, and Axis Bank already provide their clients with this WhatsApp service.
The State Bank of India already provides its credit card members with WhatsApp-based services.Through the messaging app owned by Meta, these consumers can check their reward points, unpaid balance, account overview, and more.
Users of SBI credit cards must send a WhatsApp “OPTIN” SMS to 90 0402 2022 in order to obtain this information.The same procedures will be used in this situation as well.However, this will only function if you have signed up for the service yourself.Users of SBI credit cards must place a missed call to 80 8094 5040 from their registered cellphone number in order to register.
