Samsung Galaxy S23 To Launch With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 200MP Cameras

-

Although the Samsung Galaxy S23 is still a ways off, early rumours show a 200MP camera and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Samsung releases its flagship Galaxy S-series devices every year with two different chipset options: the Qualcomm Snapdragon and the company’s own Exynos CPU.Typically, Exynos-powered varieties are sold to the European and Indian markets while Snapdragon-powered variants are reserved for the US and China.

But this year, even the Indian area got a Snapdragon model. It now appears that Samsung will once more make the Snapdragon model available in other markets, including India. In fact, according to a recent source, Samsung might not even release an Exynos model.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series: Possible Chipset, Cameras

According to the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm is probably going to be Samsung’s only CPU supplier this year. This implies that the only Galaxy S23 versions this year will likely be Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered.

For those who are unaware, last year saw a greater shipment proportion for models with Snapdragon processors, which was about 70%.Now, according to the expert, Samsung may choose a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip for the Galaxy S23 because of TSMC’s 4nm production.

Exynos 2300 cannot compete with SM8550 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), according to Kuo, as the latter is more optimised and effective. If this occurs, Qualcomm will increase the market share of its SM8550 in 2023, which will be advantageous to both Qualcomm and TSMC.

The expert also disclosed that compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or SM8550 will have higher computing capability. That stated, while contemplating Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, we are looking at a strong and effective chip.

Samsung has not officially said whether the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series will only feature Qualcomm CPUs.However, Samsung Mobile President TM Roh earlier this year acknowledged that the business would attempt to employ distinctive chips for Galaxy phones.Currently, we are unsure if that testimony applied to the flagship Galaxy S23 models.

But it will happen the following year.In Q1 2023, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is most likely to debut.According to some of the earliest speculations, the 200MP Samsung HM1 ISOCELL sensor will be included with the Galaxy S23.A separate piece has been written for the Galaxy S23 Ultra because some concept renders also illustrate what the device may look like.
