Users can now instantly search for restaurants and other hot spots from posts in the Instagram app thanks to a recent upgrade.
A new map function is coming to Instagram, purportedly inspired by Google but with some changes.
CEO of Instagram’s parent company Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, posted a message on Instagram Stories to introduce the platform’s new searchable map.The post demonstrates how customers will be able to use category-specific filters and find out about popular nearby local companies thanks to the new functionality.By touching location tags in posts on the Feed or through Stories, users can now also look for restaurants, tourist attractions, and other hot areas.
According to an update posted on Instagram Stories by the CEO of Instagram parent company Meta, the photo-video sharing social media site is adding a new searchable Map feature that will make it easier for users to find eateries and other hot areas.On the other side, the upgrade allegedly has a similar design to Google Maps.Users will be able to find well-known businesses in their area and, as noted above, can apply filters in several categories.
Instagram’s map now allows users to explore by tapping on marked locations in the feed or Stories and will support hashtag searches.They can also share destinations with their platform pals and keep their searches in a collection.
Users can also simply enter the name of a city or neighbourhood on the Explore page to get results on the map.Additionally, Instagram users’ posts and stories with location stickers will add content to the search results so that others on the platform can see it.However, as long as the location-sharing Instagram profile is set to public, others will be able to see it.
In addition, Instagram recently unveiled a payment tool that would let users make purchases from small companies via direct messages.Users will be able to make purchases on the social media platform from a variety of certified small businesses using the new functionality without ever leaving the chat.
