Instagram, which is owned by Meta, has acknowledged that it is testing a modification that converts video posts into Reels in a significant update.The modification, which is part of Instagram’s effort to streamline video on the platform, is presently being tested with a small group of users across the globe.

A snapshot published on Twitter by social media expert Matt Navarra revealed, according an IANS report, that participants in the test will get an in-app notification stating that “video postings are now shared as Reels”.

According to an email from Meta to Techcrunch, “We are exploring this functionality as part of our efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram”.

Your Reel will only be accessible to your followers if your account is set to private, it was added.The notice also mentioned that if your account is public and you submit a Reel, anyone can remix it.In your account settings, you may, however, stop anyone from remixing your Reels.

In an effort to deliver age-appropriate experiences on the site, Instagram also recently disclosed that it is testing new ways for users to verify their age by uploading an ID like a driver’s licence or ID card, in addition to other methods.

Instagram will ask users to prove their age if they try to change their date of birth from under the age of 18 to 18 or over, starting with the US.They can submit a copy of their ID to prove their age, take a video selfie, or ask friends who know them to confirm their age.

The person providing the vouch must be at least 18 years old and cannot be providing a vouch at the same time for another person.Users have the option of uploading a video selfie to prove their age.Instagram started requesting users’ ages in 2019 when they signed up for an account.
