How To Make Corrections In A YouTube Video After It Is Uploaded

Must read

After a movie or clip is uploaded, YouTube’s new feature enables creators to edit it, notifying viewers of the changes via a pop-up.

Creators may now make modifications live thanks to a new feature on YouTube called corrections. The YouTube product manager stated that this feature will enable users to “draw attention to errors and clarifications in the descriptions of their already-published videos”.

Once a user uploads a video to the platform, they can edit the video’s title, caption, comment settings, and other parameters in YouTube Studio. This correction will be made known to the viewers.

How to use the new corrections option on YouTube

A “View Corrections” info card will be visible to viewers in the top-right corner of the video. To view all of the edits made by the creator, simply click on the tag.Despite YouTube’s clarification that it will only display for the first correction in the video, this card will only appear at a timestamp that is pertinent.

By doing this, the creator will avoid having to remove the video, submit it again, and lose any existing views, likes, and counts.Notably, the feature will be delivered to qualified creators by the end of June.

Please be aware that if your channel has been the target of active strikes or has been flagged as inappropriate by users, it won’t be accessible to you. With the use of this functionality, creators will be able to amend any errors before the movie is released and ensure that users are receiving the relevant information.

You can follow these easy steps to alter the settings of a YouTube video that has already been uploaded:

  1. Open YouTube Studio and sign in
  2. Click on “Content” that will appear in the left menu
  3. Click on the video’s title or thumbnail
  4. Update/change the settings as required and click on “Save”

The end is here!In general, this function attempts to enable YouTube creators to edit their films or snippets while maintaining viewer engagement. Before now, the only option available to authors was to correct inaccuracies in the video’s description or comments.
