The Poco F4 5G will be powered by the same chip that powers the Poco F3.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC will power the Poco F4 5G, the company said on Thursday. The new Poco phone is expected to make its global premiere in India in the near future.Despite the fact that the phone’s name suggests it will be the successor to last year’s Poco F3, rumours claim it could simply be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40S.The Redmi phone had the same Snapdragon 870 SoC as the Xiaomi phone, as well as a triple rear camera configuration and a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The official Poco India Twitter account teased the presence of an octa-core Snapdragon 870 SoC on the upcoming Poco F4 5G with a teaser. The revelation comes only one day after the company announced the new smartphone’s global premiere in the country.
Other data about the Poco F4 5G are still unknown. It’s worth noting, though, that the Poco F3 was introduced with a Snapdragon 870 SoC, same like this year’s model. However, that model did not make it to India.
According to a recent source, the Poco F4 5G is a rebadged Redmi K40S that was released in China in March.A couple of live photos purporting to reveal the phone’s rear have also surfaced online.
Poco has a history of launching repackaged Redmi phones in India and other territories under its own brand name. The Poco F4 GT, which arrived in Europe in April as a rebranded version of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, is one of the most recent examples.
The Poco F4 5G’s price has yet to be revealed. The Redmi K40S, on the other hand, started at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 21,000) for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model.
