Facebook Introduces Audio, Chat And Feed Channels To Groups, Testing Sidebar

Facebook is also experimenting with a new sidebar that will make it simpler for users to find their preferred groups.Along with listing the groups that users follow, this sidebar will also display a user’s most recent activity as well as any new chats or posts that they haven’t yet seen.

Facebook has made plans to update Groups on its platform with new functionality.One of these is a Community Audio Channels tool akin to Discord, which enables group managers and members to idly join and leave audio discussions taking place in real time in the groups they are already a part of.

In an effort to support community members or group members in communicating, collaborating, and developing deeper relationships around subjects in a more real-time manner across both Facebook Groups and Messenger, Facebook is now adding a feature on its platform called Community Chat Channels.So an admin can build a chat for that when you’re in your new BBQ fans group and need real-time criticism while attempting your first brisket, Facebook explained in a blog post.

Community Feed Channels is another tool that Facebook groups will soon have available.Members of the community will be able to connect with one another using this function whenever it suits them.According to Facebook, group administrators can create topic-based communities within their groups so that members can connect over more specialised interests.

Facebook is offering new options to assist users organise their groups better in addition to new Facebook Group features that are intended to enable group members interact in smaller groups.According to Facebook, group administrators can now create channels to communicate with their groups in more intimate and relaxed settings in an effort to conduct more in-depth discussions about shared interests.

The business announced that it is now testing a new sidebar that would make it simple for people to find their favourite groups.Along with listing the groups that users follow, this sidebar will also display a user’s most recent activity as well as any new chats or posts that they haven’t yet seen.Users of Facebook will also be able to “pin” their preferred groups so they appear first.
