More users are getting the new WhatsApp 2GB media file sharing feature

Must read

Starting today, Whatsapp is sending out the new 2GB file-sharing capacity to additional users.
Here’s how to see if you’ve been assigned the new file-sharing limit.

WhatsApp was rumoured to be releasing an update to its file-sharing capability, allowing users to share files up to 2GB in size. The new function had been under development for a few weeks and was being rolled out to a select group of users. The feature is now being used by even more people.

No more 100MB media file-sharing limit

WABetainfo reported on WhatsApp’s 2GB file sharing capability, which is expected to launch on Android and iOS smartphones soon.Users will be able to share huge files directly from WhatsApp using this functionality.

Many people now use their phones as their primary camera, and as the use of miniaturised sensors on phones grows, so does the quality of videos and photographs.

Even low-cost phones now have 1080p video recording capabilities, while mid-range phones can shoot 4K films. If you wish to share these videos through WhatsApp without compressing them, you should definitely send them as document files.

The 100MB file sharing limit on WhatsApp, on the other hand, is inconvenient, and you wind up utilising another programme – such as Telegram – to share large files. However, you are no longer required to do so.Users can transmit large files up to 2GB in size directly from WhatsApp messenger using this function.

It’s worth mentioning that, with this freshly increased file-sharing capacity, WhatsApp now outperforms Telegram, which still has a 2GB file-sharing restriction. However, this is the new restriction; previously, Telegram users were limited to 1.5GB.

How do you know if you have the feature?

To see if you’ve received the new file-sharing limit, go to WhatsApp and transmit a large file that’s larger than 100MB.You can also try sending a movie or a long video that you have stored on your phone.

You won’t get any messages if you have the revised file-sharing restriction of 2GB, and you’ll be able to share huge videos with ease.If you get a notice that says “This document is too large,” ignore it.If you still don’t have the revised file-sharing limit, you can email documents up to 100 MB in size. But don’t worry, the feature will be available soon.

In related news, WhatsApp is striving to improve its messaging platform’s desktop experience. The unread chat filter is coming to WhatsApp on the desktop. If you receive several messages on your Whatsapp desktop, you may easily filter to see if any are unread.
