There’s good news for those of you who were getting excited about Apple’s Mixed Reality headset.According to reports, Apple is collaborating with Hollywood directors to create a dreamlike experience for their upcoming AR/VR headset.Jon Favreau, a director of popular Hollywood films such as The Jungle Book, The Lion King, and the first Iron Man films, is one of the directors involved here.
Get Ready for some Hollywood-level content on Apple’s mixed reality headset
According to reports, Favreau is working on a mixed reality experience based on Apple TV’s Prehistoric Planet series.This series is about dinosaurs and their old Earth habitats, in case you didn’t know.On the other hand, the Apple headset should provide a Jurassic Park-like experience.
Although this piece of news gets us excited for the headset’s release, don’t get too worked up about it; wait until WWDC 2022.The mixed reality headset may not be unveiled at Apple’s WWDC event on June 6th.Indeed, some speculations claim that the release date has been pushed back to 2023.It’s primarily because to the technological challenges that have plagued Apple and the headset’s development team.Because of the ramifications, some employees have even quit the organisation.
Even though the launch isn’t planned until next year, Apple is likely to reveal some details about the mixed reality headgear.Developers will receive this in the form of software prompts.According to reports, Apple will release a toolkit that would let developers to add camera and speech capability to their apps, allowing for a hands-free experience with Apple’s headset.So, if not a debut, at the very least some hints about its software features will be visible during the WWDC.
Apple hasn’t revealed any details about the headset’s specifications yet.The AR/VR headset, on the other hand, is believed to feature cutting-edge technology.The mixed reality headgear is believed to employ highly sensitive 3D modules for hand tracking, numerous camera modules for eye tracking, and two CPUs on par with Apple’s M1 chipset, which presently powers the MacBook and iMac models.
Sony’s 4K OLED microdisplay is expected to be supported by the mixed reality headset.It will be game-focused and tuned, and will eventually compete with the Oculus Quest.
